Sunday September 24, 2023 - Saint Michael's Day

In Grimaud, the Saint-Michel patronal festival, between terroir and tradition, will this year take us back in time!

This Saint-Michel celebration dates from the Middle Ages. It embodied the expiration of rural leases, hence the expression “on Michaelmas everyone moves”.

With the Wool Fair, the Midsummer Fires and the Village Festival, it remains one of the pillars of the Grimaudoise tradition. One of its highlights that stands the test of time...

To preserve the symbolism of this heritage celebration, a garage sale is associated with a craft market on the three main squares of Grimaud.

The religious tradition is also preserved. A Provençal mass followed by a procession still honors the city’s patron saint today.

And to complete the party, throughout the day, to the sounds of fifes, galoubets and tambourines, come and enjoy our many activities: wooden games, song and dance shows from the past, parade of costumes from the beginning of the 20th century century, presence of Escandihado, gourmet corner or even story readings will complete the already rich program of this day!
